International Medical Partnership in Action: Nearly 250 Ukrainian doctors trained abroad in October

239 medical professionals from 37 medical institutions from all over ukraine took part in scientific events (conferences, congresses), educational events (internships, training, workshops, seminars), and experience exchange. most of the doctors were trained in european countries: austria, poland, germany, switzerland, italy, etc. some doctors also received training in the united states, canada, and israel.

in more than a year and a half of full-scale warfare, russia has damaged 1468 medical facilities in ukraine, and another 193 have been destroyed to the ground. the russian invaders continue to destroy civilian infrastructure, including medical facilities: hospitals, outpatient clinics, polyclinics, maternity clinics and other medical institutions, preventing doctors from working and creating an additional burden on the medical system.

the ukrainian delegation proposed to consider the possibility of holding the 75th session of the world health organization’s regional committee for europe in ukraine. such an event would demonstrate the international community’s support for the ukrainian people and the recognition of ukrainian reforms at the global level.the decision has been preliminarily approved by the committee’s leadership, but the final decision will be made in the fall of 2024 after consultations with the ukrainian government and taking into account the security situation.
Plastic surgeons from Canada and the United States perform 30 reconstructive surgeries for wounded Ukrainians

for the second time, a mission of canadian and american reconstructive surgeons, face the future ukraine, took place in ivano-frankivsk. the world’s experts, together with their ukrainian colleagues, performed more than 30 plastic surgeries on people who suffered war injuries. the patients include military personnel from different parts of ukraine. all of them have severe mine-blast wounds to their faces and necks: damage to the orbit of the eye, severe nose injuries and missing jaw fragments.
