the ministry of health of ukraine continues to work closely with the government of japan and japanese government institutions to support and restore the medical sector. priority areas include the purchase of special equipment for ukrainian healthcare facilities, projects to exchange experience in emergency medical care, rehabilitation and prevention of the spread of antimicrobial resistance, and humanitarian assistance.

the ministry of health has sent the third group of children for treatment abroad, who were at okhmatdyt during the russian terrorist attack. international partners from the european commission and the world health organization quickly responded to the ministry of health's request for evacuation needs and ensured the prompt transportation of the children to germany. german minister of health karl lauterbach promised on the first day after the terrorist attack to accept the children for treatment

Joint intergovernmental consultations between Ukraine and the Czech Republic: a memorandum of cooperation in the healthcare sector is signed

on july 16, joint intergovernmental consultations between ukraine and the czech republic took place in prague. the meeting focused on bilateral cooperation, particularly in the healthcare sector. also, during the meeting, minister of health of ukraine viktor liashko and deputy prime minister of health of the czech republic vlastimil válek signed a memorandum of understanding.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Belgian development agency "Enabel".

the minister of health of ukraine, viktor liashko, and the director of the belgian development agency "enabel," dirk deprez, signed a memorandum of cooperation. the purpose of the cooperation is to implement projects for the long-term support of the ukrainian healthcare system for 2024–2029, to prepare ukrainian medical institutions for the upcoming winter, and to provide rehabilitation for ukrainians affected by the consequences of the full-scale war, among other initiatives.

... work on restoring critical medical services at okhmatdyt continues. this primarily involves the operating rooms, intensive care units, and the departments of pediatric oncology, ophthalmology, urology, and neurosurgery, which are to be housed in the hospital's newest building. although this building was also damaged during the russian missile attack on july 8, restoration work inside the premises, preparation for windows, and facade restoration are underway. additionally, a plan for relocating the aforementioned departments has been developed. furthermore, a list of medical equipment necessary to restore the provision of essential medical services has been compiled.

The Ministry of Health will coordinate the medical evacuation of Okhmatdyt patients for treatment abroad

the ministry of health will organize the medical evacuation of patients of the okhmatdyt children's hospital who have been affected by another russian terrorist attack.

Almost 100 children have been transferred from Okhmatdyt to other medical facilities in Kyiv, while about 70 remain under treatment.

627 children were at the national specialized children's hospital "okhmatdyt" when it was hit by a russian missile. as a result of the shelling, eight young patients were injured, all of whom have been transferred to other medical facilities.

two adults were killed as a result of a terrorist missile attack by russians on the national children's specialized hospital "okhmatdyt". they were a doctor and a relative of one of the hospital's patients. in addition, more than 50 people, including seven children, were injured. 8 people were hospitalized, including 4 children. several medics are seriously injured. this information is not final and will be updated as the rescue operation is ongoing.

russians hit two children's hospitals in Kyiv

... july 8, russian terrorists attacked ukraine's largest children's hospital, okhmatdyt, with missiles. five medical facility buildings (including the newest one, which was opened amid a full-scale war) were damaged. one of the buildings collapsed and was destroyed. in addition, the children's cardiac surgery center building was damaged. during the attack, medical facilities were undergoing the surgeries. minister of health viktor liashko said that the explosion had blown out windows in the operating rooms. one child who was on the surgical table was injured by glass in the chest area. currently, doctors at another hospital are saving the life of the child. as a result of the missile attack, there are injured and dead, but the information about their number is constantly being updated – all emergency services are working on the scene of the attack, and rescue work is ongoing.
