... total of 6,095 ukrainians affected by the war have received free medical treatment and rehabilitation abroad under the medevac ukraine program. our fellow citizens, most of whom are military personnel and veterans, have already been accepted by 33 countries around the world. the highest numbers of patients have been treated in medical facilities in germany (1,764), latvia (762), norway (460), poland (453), and the netherlands (441).the program was launched in april 2022 through cooperation between the ministry of health of ukraine, the european union (eu), the world health organization (who), and the governments of european countries. medical treatment abroad is provided free of charge to patients, with all expenses covered by the host country.
