Viktor Liashko signed a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Superhumans Center
Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko took part in the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Superhumans Center.
The main purpose of joint activities under the agreement is cooperation in prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, psychological support and rehabilitation of military and civilian citizens who suffered as a result of russian military aggression. In the future such cooperation will allow the use of innovative technologies, in particular artificial intelligence, which in turn will significantly improve the quality of life of affected Ukrainians and allow them to be active in society.
“Now we live in a time of great transformations in the healthcare system. Therefore, such an innovative project as Superhumans Center is important for every Ukrainian. After all, the war today definitely affected everyone, someone was physically wounded, and someone – psychologically. That is why each of us must go through our own path of change and certain rehabilitation in order to return to full life after this brutal war. The creation of such a center in Ukraine is a very honorable task, because our people are heroes, and we strive to do everything possible to ensure that Ukrainians have access to the best that is in the world,” said the minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko.
According to the minister, the project will immediately combine three important aspects, in particular medical, psychological and social.
The medical direction will include high-quality prosthetics, treatment and rehabilitation at home. Now it will not be necessary to go to Europe or the United States to maintain the prosthesis and receive qualified support. This is about the development of an entire industry in Ukraine (prosthetics and rehabilitation) and the formation of large teams of professionals because the clinic will have a training center for doctors.
The second aspect is psychological when doctors will work with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the clinic. And this applies to both the military and those who have directly witnessed the fighting, violence, or other horrors of war. A person who has survived a war far from the front line can also get PTSD.
The third is the social aspect because Superhumans is not only a clinic but also the formation of a new attitude towards people with disabilities and people with war injuries. This is a philosophy of equality and dignity. Because every Ukrainian is a “superhuman”.
Olha Rudneva, CEO of Superhumans Center, commented: “The support of the Ministry of Health means a lot to us, because we aim to create a common ecosystem with government agencies while providing a comprehensive program to support war victims. Our goal is to create a model of providing a full service to people who have lost their limbs, need rehabilitation or reconstructive surgery. We believe that together with the Ministry of Health, we will be able to make such a service as high-quality and affordable as possible and scale it within Ukraine. A separate task for us is to train and improve the skills of specialists based on Superhumans, who could implement the philosophy of restoring war victims throughout Ukraine.”
Consequently, a multifunctional healthcare institution – Superhumans Center will appear in Lviv region soon and will become an example of partnership between the state and private charitable initiatives. The clinic will specialize in prosthetics for adults and children, surgical operations for the reconstruction and restoration of disfigured parts of the body or face, as well as the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder.
From now on, our defenders will have access to modern and up-to-date medicine, which already exists in the world’s leading clinics and saves lives.
It should be recalled that the creation of the institution will take place through the modernization and re-equipment of the state hospital, which currently operates in the region. Now preparations for its reconstruction have begun.
