Vaccines and medical supplies were delivered as a new batch of humanitarian aid in January

In January, Ukraine received another batch of medical humanitarian aid for the healthcare sector. Vaccines and medical supplies have already been distributed to healthcare facilities across the country.

The aid provided by Denmark and the Netherlands includes 1,185 naloxone kits, supplied with the support of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, as well as 1,050 hearing aids provided by Demant A/S.

Ukraine also received 959,800 doses of vaccines for the immunization of children under the National Immunization Schedule. These include vaccines against tuberculosis (BCG), diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae infection. The vaccines were provided within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (Gavi). Under the agreement, Gavi is financing part of the vaccines to support the national immunization program, in accordance with the National Immunization Development Strategy through 2030. UNICEF is responsible for the procurement and delivery of vaccines within the framework of this partnership.

“We are sincerely grateful to our international partners for their commitment and consistent support. Each batch of aid received is an opportunity for our doctors to continue fighting for every patient despite the war. This aid is especially crucial at this time, during a period of prolonged system exhaustion and extremely challenging conditions under which healthcare facilities are operating.”
Mariia Karchevych, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization

These deliveries are part of the international community's ongoing efforts to support Ukraine. However, the healthcare sector's needs remain urgent due to the scale of the hostilities and the continuous shelling of critical infrastructure.

We continue to collaborate with international partners to provide healthcare facilities with the necessary resources.

It should be noted that, in total, Ukraine has received 18,454 tons of medical humanitarian aid valued at UAH 21.52 billion during the period of martial law.
