Ukrainian medical institutions sign memorandum of medical partnership with Romanian medical center
Recently, the Ukrainian Medical Center for Rehabilitation of Mothers and Children of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Central City Hospital of the Reni City Council, and the Romanian Medical Center for Recovery and Palliative Care Lasalle signed a memorandum of international medical partnership. Such cooperation will allow Ukrainian and foreign doctors to strengthen interaction and implement modern approaches in medicine and mental health. The memorandum was signed during the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Romania.
The main goal of the cooperation is to develop horizontal trilateral ties between the countries’ healthcare institutions, improve the quality of medical services for patients, develop the professional skills of doctors, etc.
In particular, the initiatives are:
- professional interaction between Ukrainian and Romanian doctors;
- introduction of advanced international technologies and European standards of medical care in Ukrainian medical institutions;
- development of rehabilitation care based on evidence-based medicine;
- conducting joint research, conferences, and internships;
- modernization and digitalization of medical institutions in Ukraine using the latest technologies, etc.
During the visit, the Ukrainian delegation visited the House of Light day center, a unique place for children and adults with special educational needs, where they got acquainted with the work of the physical therapy and physical rehabilitation room, classes for the development of social skills, etc. The Center employs a clinical psychologist, a teacher, an occupational therapist, a psychotherapist and other specialists.
Representatives of Ukraine also visited the Emergency Hospital, which has a capacity of 1,500 beds and its own air ambulance. The Ukrainian doctors observed the patient’s route from the admitting department to specialized areas, the training center where medical specialists are trained, and the equipment of the medical helicopter.
As part of the cooperation, Romanian doctors donated three defibrillators to Ukrainian hospitals.
It should be recalled that the international medical partnership initiative was launched in 2023 as part of the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen under the patronage of First Lady Olena Zelenska. Back then, 25 Ukrainian hospitals entered into partnerships with the world’s leading hospitals.
To date, 61 memoranda of cooperation have been signed between Ukrainian and international healthcare institutions. The development of the initiative allows Ukrainian doctors to share their own experience and learn from the experience of their foreign colleagues to strengthen the healthcare sector in Ukraine.
