Ukrainian hospitals are provided with more than 10 thousand generators in case of emergency power outages

Energy infrastructure facilities are under constant threat from russian shelling. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine and its partners continue to equip medical facilities with generators to make them more resilient to possible power outages.

Currently, Ukrainian hospitals have 10,413 generators to ensure uninterrupted operation. They will be activated in critical situations and supply power to the grid. Thanks to the autonomous power sources, intensive care units and operating rooms will be able to operate, and doctors will be able to continue saving patients.  

Please note that hospital managers are responsible for creating conditions for the stable operation of a medical facility in the event of emergencies, including blackouts. Managers of medical institutions should take care of fuel reserves for generators and check their performance.

We are grateful to all partners who contributed to providing medical facilities with generators. This cooperation has allowed hospitals to provide medical services even in extreme conditions.

It should be recalled that 40 powerful generators have recently been distributed to medical institutions in Ukraine as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank.
