Ukraine has received 20 ambulances from the government of the Republic of Korea
Ukraine has received 20 modern KIA BONGO ambulances as part of a humanitarian donation from the Government of the Republic of Korea. This delivery is the final batch of 200 planned vehicles, with a total value of over 12 million US dollars, provided in collaboration with the Embassy of Korea in Ukraine and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The delivered vehicles are fully equipped with modern medical equipment necessary to save patients' lives at the scene and during transport to medical facilities. Each ambulance is outfitted with defibrillator monitors, oxygen supply systems, trauma equipment, stretchers, and medications for providing emergency care.
During the handover ceremony, attended by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lіashko and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Ukraine Park Kichang, the vehicles were transferred to representatives of medical institutions. In particular, some of them will reinforce the fleet of the Odesa Regional Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine Center, as well as one of the hospitals in Cherkasy region.
“Today we are receiving not just cars, but another proof of true partnership and support that saves lives. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the enemy has destroyed or damaged more than 600 ambulances. Each vehicle we receive is a strengthening of our medical system, which must work even in the most difficult conditions. Every day we work to ensure that medics have everything they need, because time is life.”
Overall, thanks to the support of international partners, Ukraine has already received over 1,500 emergency medical vehicles, 73 of which are armored. The fleet renewal began even before the full-scale invasion — in 2020–2021, 895 ambulances were purchased using state budget funds. These vehicles ensured the stable operation of the medical system during the first, most difficult months of the war.
Recently, Ukrainian medical institutions received 100 modern ultrasound diagnostic systems and 30 mobile X-ray fluoroscopic systems as part of humanitarian aid from the government of the Republic of Korea.
