A Memorandum of Understanding between the two medical institutions was signed during the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen in September 2023.

The partnership between UGECAM Nord-Est and Superhumans Center is focused on improving rehabilitation services for patients with limb amputations through the implementation of two key projects.

Key components of the cooperation:

1. Development and implementation of a training course for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) physicians

This project involves the creation of a training program designed to equip PRM doctors with advanced methods for rehabilitating patients with amputations. Enhancing the competencies of medical professionals will improve the quality and accessibility of rehabilitation services—particularly important given the growing need for specialists capable of effectively supporting amputee patients, including military personnel.

The project aligns with national strategies aimed at integrating global best practices into Ukraine’s healthcare system. It will accelerate the physical recovery of patients and significantly improve their quality of life.

2. Establishment of a Gait Laboratory at Superhumans Center

The second project involves setting up a state-of-the-art Gait Laboratory, equipped with innovative technology for motion analysis. This will enable high-precision diagnostics and the development of tailored rehabilitation plans, resulting in better outcomes for patients with limb amputations.

The laboratory will also serve as a platform for joint scientific research, the findings of which could have a global impact on rehabilitation practices for amputees.

Expected outcomes of the collaboration:

  • Integration of advanced technologies into the practice of Ukrainian healthcare professionals

  • Improved quality of medical services through increased success rates and better functional recovery of patients

  • Establishment of a sustainable professional training system for medical staff

  • Expansion of international cooperation and the formation of long-term partnerships with global medical institutions

  • Strengthening Ukraine’s national capacity in the field of rehabilitation in line with modern medical standards
