Twenty mobile clinics were delivered to communities in six regions of Ukraine with the support of the German government
Communities in Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Odesa oblasts received 20 mobile clinics. The mobile clinics will improve access to necessary medical services for community residents.
Currently, the communities have received 10 mobile clinics, and another 10 community clinics in different oblasts of Ukraine were received at the end of last year.
Due to russia’s systematic attacks and the challenges posed by the full-scale war, medical care in some areas has been significantly hampered. Mobile clinics, on the other hand, allow patients to improve their access to the necessary primary health care in the regions.
Mobile clinics are fully equipped outpatient clinics on wheels that can reach patients wherever they are and provide them with high-quality medical services. They are designed and manufactured to meet the needs of medical institutions. All systems, materials and devices comply with European medical and safety standards.
Each mobile clinic is provided with the necessary medical equipment, air conditioning and ventilation system for clinical premises, heater, water tanks, generator and batteries for backup power. This ensures uninterrupted operation in the face of russian systemic attacks and power outages. The building’s space has been arranged to provide access to the clinic for people with disabilities.
The mobile teams will provide a full range of services of the stationary primary health care center, such as general consultation, diagnosis, treatment, laboratory services, ultrasound, vaccination, maternal and child care, ophthalmology, ECG, etc.
The mobile clinics were purchased by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH) under the Special Support Program for Ukraine / EU4ResilientRegions with funding from the German government, and clinical trainings for mobile teams from host communities are partially funded by the European Union.
For reference: On behalf of the German government, the EU and other donors, GIZ supports Ukraine on its recovery path. The focus is on building municipal and social infrastructure, reliable energy supply and strengthening the Ukrainian economy. GIZ also accompanies Ukraine on its path to EU membership, advises on the necessary reforms and contributes to the modernization of public administration. Long-term cooperation and a network of partners in all regions of the country allow us to provide support in line with the needs of citizens and aimed at future development.
