The National Health Service of Ukraine ready to contract the next 468 PHC providers
During the "second wave" of signing agreements, the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) received 509 applications from both state-owned and private PHC providers, 468 of which were properly submitted in accordance with all requirements. The NHSU will notify the health facilities that complied with all requirements of an intent to sign agreements in the near future.
Since the "first wave", the number of applications submitted to the NHSU has almost tripled. This time, the most active applicants were from Kharkiv, Lviv and Sumy oblasts. In addition, the NHSU received many applications from the PHC providers operating in the mountain villages in Zakarpattia oblast.
"I was pleasantly surprised with the high level of preparedness demonstrated by the management of these health facilities. Many of them switched to independent management, got a digital signature registered and checked the validity period of their licenses in advance. And more importantly, they started thinking differently – not just as health employees, but as real health managers. The medical industry is being shaken up. The healthcare system is healing. The transformation is underway," commented Oleh Petrenko, Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine.
The agreements between the NHSU and these PHC providers are to be signed by August 15, 2018. The health facilities contracted during the "second wave" will start operating under the ‘money follows the patient’ principle in October 2018.
