The Government has extended the pilot project on transplantation
Today, on December 29, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted resolution at its meeting “On amendments to Resolution No. 707 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of September 5, 2018", which extended the implementation of a pilot project on transplantation for 2022.
The purpose of the resolution developed at the initiative of the Ministry of Health is to encourage the development of transplantation as one of the priority areas of healthcare.
The results of the project implementation in 2021 are more than 300 transplants performed in Ukraine during the year. This is twice as much as in 2020 and almost four times more than in 2019.
Currently, there are 26 transplant centers, the costs of operations at which are covered from the state budget.
The continuation of the project implementation and the mechanism of financial support for surgical treatment for organ transplantation and other anatomical materials established today will allow the Ministry of Health to continue paying transplant centers for operations performed under direct contracts and at decent rates next year.
This will reduce the need to send Ukrainians for treatment abroad, help increase the number of transplants in the country and, accordingly, improve the access of Ukrainians to these operations.
The budget for next year includes UAH 939.5 million for transplantation.
