Strengthening Ukraine–EU Cooperation in the Pharmaceutical Sector: International Conference in Vilnius to Focus on Strategic Partnership
On December 9, 2025, Vilnius (Lithuania) will host the international conference “UA–EU: Strategic Partnership in the Pharmaceutical Sector”, organized by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Lithuania and other European institutions.
The event will serve as a platform for open dialogue between Ukraine and the European Union on the further development of the pharmaceutical industry and its gradual integration into the single European market. Participants will include representatives of Ukrainian and EU government bodies, regulatory agencies, leading pharmaceutical companies, professional associations, research institutions, international organizations, and donors.
The main goal of the conference is to deepen strategic cooperation in the field of medicinal products. Key topics will include the harmonization of regulatory policies, development of innovations, integration of Ukrainian manufacturers into European supply chains, attracting investments, and strengthening the human resources capacity of the sector.
Ukraine is already confidently moving in this direction. The implementation of a Twinning project aimed at establishing a modern, transparent, and independent regulatory authority in the field of pharmaceuticals has begun. At the same time, efforts continue to strengthen production cooperation between Ukrainian and European companies to help address the shortage of critically important medicines in Europe.
In this context, Ukraine has a well-developed manufacturing base, efficient logistics infrastructure, highly qualified professionals, and modern pharmaceutical companies that already play an important role in ensuring the supply of medicines both nationally and internationally. These advantages enable Ukraine to steadily reinforce its role as a reliable partner within the European pharmaceutical space.
The event will also feature thematic panel discussions, exchange of best practices, presentations of successful initiatives, and networking opportunities to foster new partnerships between Ukrainian and European stakeholders.
This conference continues the cooperation launched at the URC-2025 international conference in Rome, during which a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and leading European professional associations to strengthen strategic partnerships in the pharmaceutical sector.
