A Memorandum of Understanding between the institutions was signed during the Third Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen held in September 2023.

Samson Assuta University Hospital in Ashdod and the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben-Gurion University are actively collaborating in the field of reconstructive surgery for congenital anomalies and neonatal surgery.

This partnership holds exceptional importance, as it provides access to advanced knowledge and practices for the treatment of complex neonatal cases. Regular online consultations with Professor Kapuller (3–4 times per month) enable the rapid and well-informed decision-making in cases requiring anorectal surgical interventions. This significantly improves the quality of care and increases the chances of positive outcomes for patients.
