Riga Children’s University Hospital (Latvia) and the Odesa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital (Ukraine)
Riga Children’s University Hospital and the Odesa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital have launched a partnership aimed at advancing pediatric medicine and improving the quality of care for children. This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening healthcare ties between Ukraine and Latvia.
The partnership focuses on several key areas, including the exchange of expertise in managing complex pediatric cases, training of medical personnel, organization of clinical internships, and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies in diagnostics and treatment. Special attention is given to the development and adoption of intensive care protocols for newborns and critically ill children.
A dedicated area of cooperation is the rehabilitation of children recovering from severe illnesses or injuries. Doctors from Riga provide expert support in the implementation of modern rehabilitation programs tailored to the Ukrainian healthcare context. In addition, both hospitals actively use telemedicine consultations to discuss complex clinical cases, enabling timely and high-quality care for patients.
As part of the partnership, a series of educational seminars and workshops has been organized for physicians at the Odesa Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital. Latvian specialists are sharing their knowledge on modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of pediatric diseases.
