National Cancer Institute (Kyiv, Ukraine) and the Institute of Oncology (Chișinău, Moldova)

The cooperation between the National Cancer Institute in Kyiv and the Institute of Oncology in Chișinău encompasses several critical areas, including:

  • Exchange of experience in cancer treatment

  • Advancement of scientific research

  • Implementation of innovative technologies

  • Education and professional training

  • Psycho-oncology and patient support

Both institutions are committed to organizing joint trainings, seminars, and conferences for physicians and medical personnel, discussing complex clinical cases, and developing effective treatment protocols. Plans are also in place for collaborative research in the field of molecular oncology, co-authorship of scientific publications, and the exchange of innovative approaches.

Special emphasis is placed on the adoption of modern diagnostic and treatment methods for cancer, as well as the use of telemedicine technologies for consultations and remote patient monitoring. As part of the collaboration, Ukrainian and Moldovan specialists are also working on educational programs, student and young professional exchanges, and continuous professional development for healthcare providers.

A key focus of the partnership is the study and implementation of modern approaches to psychological support for patients and their families, alongside initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for people living with cancer.

The first exchange visits have already taken place. Ukrainian specialists shared their experience of working with oncology patients under wartime conditions, while Moldovan partners presented their advances in early cancer detection. A joint action plan for the coming year has been agreed, including the implementation of collaborative research projects and the organization of thematic conferences.
