More Than USD 8 Million of the Budget Will Be Saved Due to Agreements with American Partners
During the working meeting of the Minister of Health Viktor Liashko and the Chief State Sanitary doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin with the global coordinator of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), agreements that allow saving funds from the state budget in the amount of more than USD 8 million were reached.
“The agreements reached at this level are key for Ukraine. PEPFAR programs will continue in Ukraine, and detailed activities will be discussed in March 2023,” the Minister said. “There are agreements that the PEPFAR program will cover the costs of purchasing antiretroviral therapy for HIV-infected people and, in cooperation with other partners, the costs of preventive services. This is savings for our military state budget of more than UAH 300 million (USD 8 million).”
The meeting was held as part of a working trip of Minister of Health Viktor Liashko and Chief Sanitary doctor Ihor Kuzin to the United States in order to deepen and establish cooperation with American partners.
