More than 600 generators will be installed in Ukrainian hospitals
Ukrainian medical institutions will receive generators from the UAE. 640 generators of various capacities are distributed among medical institutions of the capital and oblast, as well as hospitals operating in the frontline and de-occupied regions - Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts. The first batch of generators has already been delivered to hospitals in Kyiv and the Kyiv oblast.
The batch of generators was provided by the leadership of the UAE and distributed within the framework of the program of the State Property Fund of Ukraine and state institutions “Warming the Country”.
“At this difficult time, when the enemy systematically strikes at our energy infrastructure, hospitals should be as ready as possible for any scenarios. Therefore, providing generators is one of the primary needs. For uninterrupted operation in the conditions of a possible blackout hospitals must provide at least a 5-day supply of fuel for generators,” said Minister of Health Viktor Liashko.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, more than 500 generators have already been delivered to medical institutions, which came from international partners and charitable organizations. Another part was purchased independently by the hospitals or at the expense of local budgets.
Today every medical institution that provides inpatient medical care has backup power sources. The presence of at least one generator in the hospital is a prerequisite for entering into a contract with the National Health Service.
Currently, more than 3,000 generators of various capacities operating in Ukrainian hospitals. They will cover the minimum need for power supply and ensure the operation of critical equipment and departments in case of emergencies.
It should be recalled that the Ministry of Health reported that Kazakh businesses have transferred more than 40 generators for the needs of medical institutions of Ukraine.
