Medical Procurement of Ukraine purchased innovative hearing aids at a total cost of UAH 105.9 million at the request of the Ministry of Health
Medical Procurement of Ukraine (MPU), at the request of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, has signed a three-year contract for the purchase of hearing aids manufactured by Oticon (Denmark) in the amount of 24,456 units.
The devices are designed for adults and children with varying degrees of hearing loss, from mild to severe, so 6 different models of devices were purchased. Thanks to this approach, each patient will receive a device that best suits their needs.
The total value of the contract is UAH 105.93 million against the expected value of UAH 150.65 million. Thanks to effective work with the market and high-quality communication with suppliers, the Ministry of Health managed to save about UAH 45 million, or 29.7% of the approved budget. By the end of this year, the first batch of 4,293 hearing aids is expected to be delivered and distributed among Ukrainian healthcare institutions according to their current needs.
“This year, we are purchasing hearing aids centrally for the first time. This necessity is dictated by the realities in which our country lives: due to the war, Ukrainians need hearing prosthetics more often, so it was important for us to provide them with this opportunity, because the quality of life directly depends on it. High-quality, affordable and free medical care is the main goal of our Ministry. We are achieving it step by step.”
“The successful procurement of hearing aids with savings of about UAH 45 million from the expected cost proves that Ukraine has reached a qualitatively new level of meeting the needs of patients with different degrees of hearing loss. For three years, they will be provided with innovative hearing aids that will improve their quality of life.”
