Medical institutions in five oblasts received 30 off-road vehicles to improve access to medical care
Ukrainian primary healthcare centers continue to receive off-road passenger cars to provide patients with access to essential medical services. Thus, another 30 off-road vehicles were delivered to healthcare facilities in Volyn, Zakarpattia, Kirovohrad, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv oblasts.
The initiative is being implemented as part of the joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank “Health Enhancement and Lifesaving” (HEAL Ukraine).
The vehicles will be used to provide primary care to patients in remote locations. In particular, healthcare workers will conduct patronage examinations of newborns, visit sedentary patients, participate in mobile vaccination stations, etc.
In total, 175 Renault Duster vehicles and 75 electric vehicles were purchased as part of the Heal Ukraine project's “Further Improvement and Strengthening of Primary Health Care” component. The cars were distributed among medical institutions following the current needs of the regions.
145 Renault Duster vehicles and 75 electric vehicles have already been delivered to primary healthcare centers. Another 30 off-road vehicles will be delivered to medical institutions shortly.
It should be recalled that in September, with the participation of Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, World Bank Regional Country Director for Eastern Europe Bob Saum and heads of medical institutions, the first batch of off-road vehicles was delivered to 22 oblasts of Ukraine.
