Mechnikov Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital (Ukraine) and the University Clinic for Traumatology, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, Intensive Care, and Emergency Medicine (Skopje, North Macedonia)

The collaboration between these institutions is aimed at improving the delivery of emergency medical care—particularly in cases of combat trauma—and advancing practices in anesthesiology and traumatology.

This initiative was officially launched during the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen in September 2023 through the signing of a Memorandum on International Medical Partnership.

Key areas of cooperation:

  • Exchange of experience in treating trauma patients injured during hostilities, with a focus on rapid and high-quality care

Traumatology:

  • Joint research and implementation of advanced methods in trauma treatment, including orthopedics and post-injury rehabilitation

  • Organization of training programs for trauma surgeons to promote the exchange of best practices and technologies

Anesthesiology:

  • Development of joint training courses for anesthesiologists, emphasizing anesthesia in emergency settings and surgical interventions

  • Knowledge exchange on pain management in trauma patients, including cutting-edge anesthetic techniques

Intensive care:

  • Collaborative work on intensive care protocols for patients with severe trauma requiring complex treatment approaches

  • Training sessions for medical staff aimed at enhancing skills in critical care and intensive therapy

Scientific research:

  • Joint scientific projects focused on improving combat trauma care and patient outcomes

  • Publication of research findings in international medical journals to increase the visibility and impact of both institutions
