Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (United Kingdom)

A Memorandum of Understanding between the institutions was signed during the International Medical Partnership Conference held in Kyiv in May 2023.

In October 2023, nurses and radiology technicians from the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital participated in their first internship at Nottingham University Hospitals. From October 10 to 20, representatives from three departments — cardiac surgery, anesthesiology and intensive care, and interventional radiology — had the opportunity to learn about advanced treatment and rehabilitation methods.

Key areas of the internship included:

• Cardiac Life Support — Participants completed a course in Cardiac Advanced Life Support, gaining new knowledge and skills in providing emergency medical care.
• Clinical Department Visits — Interns visited the cardiac surgery unit, intensive care unit, and observed cardiac surgeries and interventional procedures.

This internship marked a significant milestone in the medical partnership between Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital and Nottingham University Hospitals. The experience not only enhanced the professional qualifications of Ukrainian healthcare workers but also strengthened international cooperation in the healthcare sector — a vital step toward introducing modern medical technologies in Ukraine.
