In more than a year and a half of war in Ukraine, almost 850 medical facilities damaged by russia have been fully and partially restored
For more than a year and a half of full-scale war, the russians have been deliberately and systematically destroying Ukrainian hospitals, clinics, outpatient clinics, maternity and other medical facilities, as well as terrorizing civilians. The enemy is attacking and bombing Ukrainian medical infrastructure, putting additional strain on the healthcare system.
Nevertheless, Ukraine is continuing to restore medical facilities to ensure that the necessary medical care is available to every patient. In particular, over the 22 months of war, 847 medical facilities have been fully or partially restored in different oblasts of Ukraine: 441 facilities have been fully restored and another 406 have been partially restored. Most of them are in Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kherson oblasts.
It should be noted that providing Ukrainians with quality, affordable and necessary medical services remains one of the state’s priorities today. That is why the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, together with its partners, will continue to work on restoring the Ukrainian medical infrastructure so that doctors can work fully and provide the necessary medical services to patients.
It should also be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the enemy has damaged 1474 medical facilities and destroyed another 195 facilities completely (beyond repair). The medical infrastructure of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts suffered the greatest losses.
The enemy also damaged 103 ambulances and destroyed another 253 vehicles. 125 ambulances were captured by the occupiers.
It should be recalled that the Ministry of Health recently reported on the restoration of a maternity hospital in Chernihiv oblast that was damaged by russian missile fragments.
