Hungary will contribute to supporting the healthcare system of Ukraine
Hungarian ambassador István Íjgyártó met with Deputy Minister of Health and Chief Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin at the Ministry of Health.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation in health care, in particular in the direction of restoring medical institutions in the de-occupied territories, approaches to the effective response to outbreaks of infectious diseases, exchange of epidemiological information, and transfer of humanitarian aid.
“We are grateful to our international partners for standing side by side with us at this extremely difficult time. The war strikes the health care system every day. Medical institutions, maternity hospitals and other public health facilities were partially or completely destroyed. Now, due to our partners, we have managed to rebuild more than 140 healthcare facilities. We are grateful to Hungary for its cooperation in the field of epidemiology — this strengthens the medical system, which is currently experiencing a significant overload,” said Ihor Kuzin, Chief State Sanitary Doctor.
In particular, the parties discussed the preparation of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of epidemiology between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary.
During the meeting, István Íjgyártó handed over titanium implants for the injured from the Hungarian company Medimetál Csontsebészeti Gyártó És Kereskedelmi Kft to Ukraine as humanitarian aid.
