Five more children’s artificial ventilation devices were purchased at the expense of UNITED24
Five more children’s artificial ventilation devices were purchased by the state enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine” with funds raised through the fundraising platform in support of Ukraine UNITED24, this time for inpatient use, for medical institutions of Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Kremenchuk.
According to the chief doctor of the Mykolaiv regional children’s clinical hospital Oleksandr Plitkin, in their neonatal department there are constantly six to ten newborns weighing less than a kilogram, often with pathologies. They have been connected to artificial ventilation devices for weeks or even months. Given the small volume of the lungs of infants, each cubic centimeter is important to calculate the required amount of oxygen and not tear the respiratory organs.
As previously reported, 35 artificial lung ventilation devices purchased earlier are already saving lives in Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Poltava regions.
“For several months now, a fundraising platform with the symbolic name UNITED24 has been operating. As a result of combining our efforts within the country and around the world in the medical field: 35 transport artificial lung ventilation devices, 22 x-ray units with a C-arch, 83 anaesthetic devices, 24 operating tables, 24 ambulances, 5 children’s artificial lung ventilation devices. To be continued!” - sums up Deputy Minister of Health Maria Karchevych.
