ARQ National Psychotrauma Centre (Netherlands) and the Lisova Polyana Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation (Ukraine)

A Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions was signed in the summer of 2024.

The partnership is currently in its development phase, with a detailed plan already in place for March 2025, which includes a study visit to the ARQ National Psychotrauma Centre in the Netherlands.

The visit will focus on familiarization with ARQ’s models and organizational approaches (both inpatient and outpatient services), participation in seminars on various psychotherapy methods, and discussions on future collaboration.

The two-day study visit program includes:

  • Overview of ARQ’s operations – Through interactions with ARQ’s inpatient and outpatient clinicians, the Lisova Polyana team will gain a deeper understanding of ARQ’s diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in rehabilitation, including how they implement stepped-care models and multidisciplinary methods to support patients.

  • Trauma-focused therapy – Workshops on narrative exposure therapy, group therapy, art therapy, and body-oriented therapy, with a particular focus on care for veterans.

  • Psychedelic-assisted therapy – An overview of its principles and application, especially in the treatment of veterans.

Discussion of next steps and future cooperation – Joint planning to identify priorities for continued partnership and knowledge exchange.
