300 anesthesia breathing systems for complex surgeries installed in Ukrainian medical institutions

Ukrainian healthcare institutions have installed 300 modern anesthesia breathing systems to provide inhalation anesthesia during surgeries of varying degrees of complexity. This equipment was purchased and delivered under the joint project of the Ministry of Health and the World Bank “Additional Financing for the COVID-19 Emergency Response and Vaccination in Ukraine”.

The matter concerns 300 anesthesia breathing systems of two types. It should be noted that the anesthesia breathing systems will be used by doctors during complex surgical interventions for people of all ages, even infants, which is their undeniable advantage. The equipment is provided with a monitor of the patient’s vital signs, as well as the ability to determine the concentration of inhaled anesthetic.

Thanks to high-quality monitoring, doctors can effectively and promptly prevent life-threatening situations, and control the depth of anesthesia, which in turn ensures patient safety during surgery.

The devices were delivered to healthcare facilities following the current needs of each region. Currently, the equipment has been installed in hospitals in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Donetsk, Kherson oblasts and the city of Kyiv.

It should be noted that the medical institutions that received the anesthesia breathing systems were trained to use them.

Despite the war, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and its partners continue to provide hospitals with critical medical equipment to enable them to function fully and allow doctors to work and save as many lives and health of Ukrainians as possible.
