Under the joint “Health Enhancement and Lifesaving” (HEAL Ukraine) project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank, 261 hematology analyzers have been procured. These medical devices will be distributed to primary healthcare centers in 21 regions across the country.

It is important to note that a hematology analyzer is a medical device used for automated blood analysis. It enables rapid and accurate measurement of various blood parameters, such as the number and types of cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelets, and other essential indicators.

The devices will be distributed to primary healthcare centers in Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Rivne, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Chernivtsi, and Volyn oblasts. The delivery of hematology analyzers to healthcare facilities across Ukraine is currently underway.

As a reminder, the “Health Enhancement and Lifesaving” (HEAL Ukraine) project aims to restore and improve access for Ukrainians to essential medical services, address new and urgent healthcare needs, and provide financial protection in emergencies, among other objectives.

The project funds will be used to implement a package of urgent measures to support the restoration of a stable healthcare system, rebuild medical facilities damaged or destroyed by the war, modernize them, and improve their efficiency.
