UNITED24 - a year and a half: more than UAH 1.5 billion raised to meet healthcare needs!

In May 2022, on the initiative of the President, a global fundraising campaign to support Ukraine was launched as part of the UNITED24 fundraising platform. One of the five areas for which people from more than a hundred countries donate is medical care.

Thus, over the past year and a half, UAH 1,563,670,499.22 has been raised to meet healthcare needs. The funds are transferred to a special account of the National Bank of Ukraine, which is assigned to the Ministry of Health.

The funds are used to purchase medical supplies; restore and modernize state and municipal healthcare facilities damaged as a result of hostilities; renovate and modernize state and municipal multidisciplinary hospitals; and purchase services related to the supply of medical care.

In particular, according to the decision of the relevant commission, Medical Procurement of Ukraine has purchased the following medical supplies with the funds raised under UNITED24:

  • 13 armored evacuation vehicles,
  • 191 ambulances of type C,
  • 22 X-ray machines with C-arch,
  • 83 anesthesia devices,
  • 63 transport and pediatric ventilators,
  • 14 ultrasound machines,
  • 81 operating tables,
  • 442 functional beds,
  • 4 neurosurgical microscopes,
  • 34 rehabilitation simulators,
  • 212 medical devices for treating bone and spine injuries,
  • 172 devices for vacuum therapy of wounds,
  • 7954 external fixation devices,
  • 98982 chemical heating pads,
  • 659 generators.

Two medical institutions have also been restored: Chernihiv City Hospital No. 3 and Chernihiv Medical Center for Modern Oncology.

“UNITED24 has become a precedent! On the anniversary of the initiative and now that it is a year and a half old, we are operating with successful figures. However, behind those numbers are the health and lives of Ukrainians,” says Mariia Karchevych, Deputy Minister of Health for Digital Development. “The fact that more and more philanthropists are joining the initiative shows the so-called coalition of people around the world in support of Ukraine!”

It should be recalled that on 7 and 10 November, two resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were adopted, which allocated UAH 24.5 million for the construction of a new outpatient clinic in the village of Khukhra in Sumy oblast, UAH 13.7 million for the purchase of 12 newborn intensive care incubators with servo-controlled oxygen, UAH 48.1 million for the purchase of 14 C-type ambulances, and UAH 1,000 for technical inspection services for ambulances.

We are grateful to all those who care for the support of Ukrainian doctors: https://u24.gov.ua/uk
