Ukraine presented digital projects at the International Conference on the control of noncommunicable diseases
Last week, on November 22-23, Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm (Sweden), led by the World Bank, hosted the international conference “Smart Investing in the Fight Against Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD): the Key to Solving Future Health Problems”. The purpose of the event was to highlight problems and suggest ways to solve them to combat noncommunicable diseases: diabetes mellitus, chronic cardiovascular and lung diseases, etc. Speakers of the event presented global trends in the development of healthcare systems in different countries, as well as financial, communication, sociological and digital aspects of their impact on noncommunicable diseases.
The conference participants exchanged experience and best practices, as well as identified promising ways to combat noncommunicable diseases.
Important role in the fight against noncommunicable diseases is played by digital tools, the introduction of communications, in particular, the use of telemedicine technologies.
Representatives of Ukraine at the conference presented the history of development, current state and plans for the development of e-healthcare, and presented to colleagues the Ukrainian experience and achievements in the introduction of digital tools.
“We chose a two-level architecture of the electronic healthcare system, which today turned out to be very successful and receptive under martial law, and our experience confirms that Ukraine is on the right track,” says Vadym Terentyuk, representative of the SE “Electronic Health”. — We are building a patient-centered healthcare system with electronic solutions as an important tool.”
“The use of innovations and modern technologies allows us to change approaches to the quality and accessibility of medical care. Best practices prove this. It is the path chosen by Ukraine in several directions, in the comprehensive digitalization of healthcare and the introduction of digital tools for our citizens at the household level,” says Maria Karchevych, Deputy Minister of Health for digital development.
