The Ministry of Health signed a memorandum of cooperation with the international charitable organization “Samaritan's Purse” and the charitable foundation “Samaritan's Purse Ukraine”
Today, on 6 March, Minister of Health Viktor Liashko signed a 5-party memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Integration, the Ministry of Social Policy, the international charitable organization “Samaritan's Purse” and the charitable organization “Samaritan's Purse Ukraine Charitable Foundation”.
International partners, including charitable organizations, continue to provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine for the second year since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation.
The purpose of this memorandum is to consolidate the interaction of the parties, which should contribute to meeting the medical, humanitarian, economic, social, and other needs of Ukrainians in war conditions.
The parties agreed, within the limits of their powers, to develop medical, social, and cultural programs and projects for the population of Ukraine, conducting the necessary consulting and organizational work for this purpose.
“I am sincerely grateful for the large-scale assistance that you provide to Ukraine. I personally visited mobile hospitals in Lviv and Izium. I have heard many words of gratitude from doctors and citizens. Your work is extremely important and provides us with incredible support in the most difficult conditions of war. I hope that we will continue our fruitful cooperation for the sake of preserving the life and health of Ukrainians,” Viktor Liashko said.
Now, due to cooperation with more than 2 thousand local Ukrainian partners (churches, non-governmental organizations, etc.), the Samaritan's Purse network actively helps Ukrainians suffering from the war. More than 33.7 thousand outpatient consultations and more than 260 surgical operations were conducted in the field hospitals deployed by the charity organization.
The Samaritan's Purse cargo plane delivered more than 253 metric tons of medical materials, which were distributed to 164 Ukrainian healthcare institutions.
It should be recalled that due to the cooperation of the Ministry of Health, the Samaritan's Purse charitable foundation, the World Health Organization and Kharkiv Regional Military Administration mobile hospital was deployed.
