Medical students will be involved in providing medical care during emergencies
The government approved the procedure for involving certain categories of persons in the provision of medical care for the period of quarantine, emergency or martial law.
The decree defines that the following specialists can be involved in the provision of medical care for the period of quarantine, emergency or martial law:
- interns;
- medical specialists and junior specialists with medical education without certification requirements for assigning or confirming a qualification category;
- pharmaceutical workers;
- senior students in the specialties “Medicine”, “Nursing”, “Dentistry”, “Technologies of Medical Diagnostics and Treatment”, “Medical Psychology”, “Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy” (specialization “Pharmacy”), “Therapy and Rehabilitation”, “Pediatrics”, “Healthcare”.
The decree also establishes the need for health authorities to determine an additional need for personnel that arose during the period of quarantine, emergency, or martial law.
Now the mechanism and features of involving each of the above-mentioned categories of persons in the provision of medical care in healthcare institutions have been defined, in particular, through business trips, the conclusion of civil or employment contracts, and sending applicants for higher education for practical training.
It should be noted that for each category of persons involved in the provision of medical care, the duties that can be performed and the conditions for their fulfillment are established.
Thus, due to the adopted changes, it will be possible to meet the additional need for personnel that arose during the period of quarantine, emergency, or martial law. In addition, the involvement of more medical professionals in the provision of medical care will ensure its completeness, timeliness, and continuity for patients.
